Shopify alternative in Bangladesh: a store in taka, with COD, Pathao and Steadfast

If you wanted Shopify in Bangladesh, you already know the catch. The plan is priced in dollars. Cash on delivery and your couriers are things you add on top. Why Bangladesh sellers look for a Shopify alternative

Shopify is a strong product. It also was not designed around how an f-commerce seller in Bangladesh runs a week. Three things come up again and again:

• Dollars. Shopify publishes its plans in USD: Basic is $39/month billed monthly, or $29/month billed yearly (shopify.com/pricing, checked 3 Oct 2026). You pay that in a currency you do not earn.
• Payments.Shopify says Shopify Payments is available only in certain countries, and Bangladesh is not on its supported list, so a Bangladesh store connects a third-party gateway instead. Shopify's pricing page lists a third-party transaction fee on top of the plan (2% on Basic). Check the current country list before you decide.
• Couriers. Pathao and Steadfast usually arrive as separate apps you install and connect. It works. It is also one more place where an address gets copied.

None of this makes Shopify a bad choice. It just means a seller who takes COD and books Pathao or Steadfast every day is paying for a lot of things they do not use.

What StoreOS gives you instead

Billing in taka

Free is Tk 0. Silver is Tk 499/month. Pro is Tk 1,190/month. No dollar conversion, no card that has to work internationally.

Cash on delivery as the default

Customers pay when the parcel arrives. COD is the default payment method on the Order flow page, where you also choose which checkout fields are required. Name and phone are always required. Free takes COD orders.

Pathao and Steadfast from the order list

Select orders, book the courier, and keep the consignment ID on the same screen. The COD amount goes with the parcel. You still need your own Pathao or Steadfast merchant account; StoreOS does not replace their pickup network, it stops the copy-paste. Courier integration is on Silver and Pro. bKash and SSLCommerz

Turn on bKash or SSLCommerz in Settings, then Integrations, and offer them at checkout next to COD. Online payment is a paid-plan feature.

Phone OTP at checkout

Bangladesh buyers check out with a phone number, not an email. StoreOS can send a one-time SMS code to confirm the number, which helps with fake COD orders. It does not stop every bad order. Customer SMS OTP is on Silver and Pro.

Your store, your domain

Your shop lives on name.storeos.shop. On a paid plan you can connect your own domain. Pick a theme from the themes page, or have a developer build your own storefront on the same APIs without rebuilding checkout or courier booking.
