StoreOSv0.15.0

Changelog

What's new in StoreOS — product updates for merchants and platform users.

All notable changes to StoreOS are documented here. Written for merchants and platform users.

0.15.0 — 2026-09-15

Shoppers can pick size and color on product pages, and you can format short product descriptions the same way as the full write-up.

What's new

  • Size and color on the product page — When a product has options, shoppers choose them before adding to cart, and the price updates to match.
  • Formatted short descriptions — Edit the short product description with the same rich text tools as the full description; formatting shows on the shop.

Improvements

  • Smoother bKash checkout — Online payments with bKash are more reliable when customers return from the payment screen.

0.14.0 — 2026-09-14

Checkout collects the details you need, shoppers can track orders and use coupons, and order messages can speak differently to customers and staff.

What's new

  • Checkout fields you control — Choose which name, phone, email, shipping, and custom questions appear at checkout, and mark each as required, optional, or hidden.
  • Coupons at checkout — Shoppers can apply a code, see the discount on the order total, and remove it if they change their mind.
  • Track an order on the shop — Customers open a simple track-order page to follow progress, with help links from your store contact settings.
  • Different messages for customers and staff — In notification rules, each recipient gets its own default message. Customer texts can include a link to track the order.
  • Remove a theme you no longer need — Uninstall an installed theme from Themes (the live theme stays protected).

Improvements

  • Saved addresses at checkout — Signed-in shoppers can pick a saved shipping address instead of typing it again.
  • Clearer account and track-order screens — Customer account and order-tracking pages feel calmer and show your store brand.
  • WhatsApp as a phone number — Enter a WhatsApp number in store settings; the shop builds the chat link for you.

0.13.0 — 2026-09-13

Write pages and blogs with clearer shop links, control how many products show per row on phone and desktop, and choose whether shoppers must sign in at checkout.

What's new

  • Full-page content pages — Create and edit Pages in a dedicated editor (like blogs), with title, URL, rich text, image, and publish status.
  • Blog URL handles — Set a clean URL for each post, see the live shop link while you edit, and thumbnails show correctly on the storefront.
  • Products per row by screen size — In the theme editor, choose how many products, collections, or other cards appear in one row on phone, tablet, and desktop.
  • Guest or signed-in checkout — Under Online Store → Order flow, choose whether shoppers can check out as guests or must sign in first.

Improvements

  • Leave a form without losing work by accident — On Order flow settings, you get a clear warning if you try to leave with unsaved changes.
  • Simpler product and collection theme blocks — Product and collection widgets follow the page you are on, so you no longer type a handle by hand.
  • Clearer shop typography — Headings and body text on the storefront stay consistent with your theme, without blowing up widget styles.

0.12.0 — 2026-09-12

Sign up now requires a regular email address, so new stores are easier to reach later.

What's new

  • A real email to open an account — Temporary or throwaway inboxes are no longer accepted when you sign up or when someone is invited to the console.

Good to know

  • Use a regular email such as Gmail, Outlook, or your work address. If sign-up is rejected, try a different inbox.

0.11.0 — 2026-09-12

Platform admins can close a store completely, and new merchants are more likely to get their welcome email.

What's new

  • Close a store from the admin console — Platform admins can permanently remove an organization and all of its store data from the organization page.

Improvements

  • Welcome email after you sign up — New merchants are more likely to receive the welcome email right after creating an account.

Good to know

  • Stores can no longer be deleted from merchant Settings. Contact a StoreOS admin if you need a store removed.

0.10.0 — 2026-09-10

Take payments online at checkout, and keep customers updated by WhatsApp, SMS, or email as orders move.

What's new

  • Online payments at checkout — Connect bKash or SSLCommerz in Settings → Integrations, then offer them to shoppers from Online Store → Order flow.
  • Automatic order updates — Under Settings → Notifications, send WhatsApp, SMS, or email when an order is placed, paid, shipped, or delivered — and send a one-off message when you need to.
  • Steadfast courier — Connect Steadfast in Integrations for parcel booking and tracking, alongside Pathao.

Improvements

  • The right ways to pay when you create an order — Manual orders only show payment methods you have actually connected.
  • Clearer sign-up — If an account already uses that email, the sign-up page says so and offers Sign in.

Good to know

  • Shoppers cannot pay online until you connect a provider and turn it on in Order flow.
  • Notification rules only send on a channel after you connect that provider under Settings → Integrations. WhatsApp rules need a phone number at checkout.

0.9.0 — 2026-09-10

See how the store is performing, pay an overdue invoice without leaving billing, and work in a calmer console.

What's new

  • Reports for the numbers that matter — Open Reports to review sales, orders, best sellers, stock that needs restocking, and coupon use for any date range — then jump there from the store overview.
  • Pay a pending invoice — If a payment is late, pay the open invoice from Billing or the store switcher before the grace period ends.
  • A clear path when a subscription expires — The shop and dashboard pause, and you get a dedicated screen to pay, pick a plan, and get back online.

Improvements

  • A calmer console — Navigation and everyday screens use a darker sidebar and cleaner pages so daily work is easier to scan.
  • Clearer collection pages on the shop — Shoppers see a simpler product listing with sort and paging, in a sidebar, grid, or toolbar layout you choose in the theme.
  • Delivery cost before they pay — Checkout shows delivery charges — including different rates inside and outside the capital — so the total is not a surprise.

Good to know

  • If your collection page was already customized, it stays as you left it until you change or reset that page in Themes.
  • A past-due store stays usable during the grace period; after it expires, pay or choose a plan to restore the shop and console.

0.8.0 — 2026-09-08

Decide how checkout works, polish how collections and search look on the shop, and put your own brand and domain on the storefront.

What's new

  • Checkout rules you control — Under Online Store, set payments, guest checkout, required fields, delivery areas and fees, and whether shoppers get an SMS when they order.
  • A thank-you page you can theme — Edit the order confirmation layout and copy in the theme customizer, the same way you edit checkout and collections.
  • Richer collection pages — Collection pages on the shop can include search, category browsing, and a product grid with a sidebar so shoppers find the right items faster.
  • Favicon and SEO for the shop — Set the browser tab icon and search/social titles and descriptions from Online Store.
  • Your own domain — Connect a custom domain to the hosted shop from Online Store.
  • Open another store yourself — Create a new store from the console and follow a short setup instead of waiting on someone else.
  • Update or remove several products at once — Select products in the catalog and change them together, or remove the ones you no longer sell.
  • Plan usage as you work — See how much of your product, order, and staff allowance you’ve used so limits are not a surprise.

Improvements

  • Easier cart on the shop — Shoppers can review items, change quantities, and go to checkout from a clearer cart drawer.
  • Safer store deletion — Closing a store asks for a code sent to your phone before it goes through.
  • Trial time in the store switcher — When a store is on a trial, remaining time is visible as you switch between stores.
  • Product links stay unique — Two products in the same store can no longer share the same shop URL.
  • You keep working if a payment is pending — A past-due or pending subscription no longer locks you out of the console.

Good to know

  • Existing shops keep today’s checkout until you save Online Store → Order flow.
  • Thank-you page wording lives in Themes, not on the Order flow page.
  • Guest checkout and online payments follow your plan — you can always turn them off; turning them on may need an upgrade.
  • Connecting a custom domain uses a CNAME record at your DNS provider.

0.7.1 — 2026-09-06

Photos and logos you attach in the console show up on the shop as expected.

Improvements

  • Images stay visible — Product photos, collection logos, vendor pictures, and your store logo load correctly after you pick them from the file library.

0.7.0 — 2026-09-06

Run your hosted shop from StoreOS — theme, checkout, and content — and keep catalog and stock up to date without extra screens.

What's new

  • Theme your storefront — Customize header, footer, home, collection, product, checkout, blog, and content pages, then publish when you are ready.
  • Marketplace shop look — Install the Daraz theme for a search-first header, flash deals, and compact product cards — then publish it to your hosted shop.
  • Product page layouts — Choose from several product-detail and product-information layouts so the shop matches how you sell.
  • Blog on the shop — Posts you publish in Blogs appear on the storefront as a journal list and article pages.
  • Content pages — Create pages such as About us with a short public name shoppers can open from your shop.
  • Checkout in the theme — Shoppers can complete cash-on-delivery checkout as part of your storefront, not a separate unstyled screen.
  • Adjust stock from the product page — Receive, count, or correct on-hand quantity while you edit a product, instead of switching to a separate stock screen.
  • Search the stock list — Find a SKU or product in inventory without paging through every row.
  • Variant quantities on one row — Expand a product in stock to see each size, color, or option and its quantities.
  • Faster catalog edits — Change a product’s status or collections from the product list without opening the full editor.

Improvements

  • Easier sidebar — Navigation is grouped into Sales, Catalog, Content, and Account so day-to-day work is faster to find.
  • File library that’s easier to work in — Switch between grid and list, drag files in, crop images before they save, and remove several files at once.
  • Clearer StoreOS website — storeos.dev now spells out a complete store for Bangladesh — catalog through delivery — with COD, Pathao, and Steadfast called out up front.

Good to know

  • Theme edits stay in draft until you publish; reset a page in the customizer to restore the starter layout for that page.
  • Blog posts and content pages only appear on the shop when they are marked Active.

0.6.0 — 2026-09-03

Find the right products and stock rows faster — without scrolling the whole catalog.

What's new

  • Filter the product catalog — Narrow products to in stock or out of stock, filter by collection, and see stock and collections right in the list.
  • Filter the stock list — Jump to low stock, out of stock, backorders, or archived items so you can restock what actually needs attention.

0.5.0 — 2026-09-03

Create orders more comfortably on your phone, and see exactly which orders used each discount code.

What's new

  • Coupon usage history — Open any coupon to see which orders used it, how much was discounted, and how many times it has been redeemed against its limit.

Improvements

  • Smoother order creation on mobile — Adding products and customers fits the phone screen: search and filter products, pick variants in a follow-up step, and edit line items without a cramped table.
  • Lists stay readable — Order IDs and other table values stay on one line so nothing looks cut mid-word; scroll sideways when you need more columns.
  • Clearer browsing on phones — List pages and day-to-day navigation are easier on small screens.

0.4.0 — 2026-09-03

Track inventory with confidence, build orders with variants, and keep the console one tap away on your phone or desktop.

What's new

  • Stock management — See on-hand quantities, reservations, and stock details so you know what you can sell before you promise it.
  • Automatic stock reservation on orders — Creating an invoice reserves stock so the same items are not oversold while the order is open.
  • Variants when creating orders — Pick the right size, color, or option while building an order—not only the parent product.
  • Install the console as an app — Add StoreOS Console to your home screen or desktop and open it like a native app.

Improvements

  • Clearer product and variant updates — Editing products and variants is more reliable when stock and options change together.
  • Password reset confirmation — After you reset your password, you get a confirmation email so you know the change went through.

Good to know

  • Reserved stock stays held while an order is in progress; it frees up again when the order is cancelled or fulfilled, depending on your workflow.
  • Installing the console as an app needs a modern browser; your live store data still requires an internet connection.

0.3.0 — 2026-09-01

Your plan and team permissions now clearly control what each person can open in the console — with a smoother path to upgrade when you need more.

What's new

  • Plan-based features — Areas not included on your current plan show a clear upgrade screen with a button to billing, instead of sending you somewhere unexpected.
  • Role-based access in the sidebar — Team members see when an area is locked by their role, with guidance to ask an admin to update permissions.
  • Billing and plans refresh — Compare plans, start checkout, and review your current subscription from the billing page.
  • Invoice history — Past billing invoices are available on the billing page for your store.
  • Staff limits at a glance — Organization settings show how many staff seats your plan includes.

Improvements

  • Clearer locked navigation — Plan-locked and permission-locked items are easier to tell apart in the sidebar.
  • Password requirements when resetting — Forgot-password and sign-up flows show what makes a strong password before you submit.
  • Smoother customer creation — Creating a customer is clearer when an email is already in use.
  • More reliable product setup — Product handles stay unique within your store, with clearer errors when something conflicts.
  • Plan upgrades work again — Choosing a paid plan from billing starts checkout as expected.

Good to know

  • Some areas stay locked until you upgrade — use Billing to view plans and checkout; that page stays available even when other features are locked.
  • If a team member cannot open part of the console, an admin can adjust their role under Settings → Roles & permissions.

0.2.1 — 2026-08-30

The StoreOS website and documentation load reliably again when you visit storeos.dev.

Improvements

  • Marketing site and docs back online — storeos.dev and the changelog page no longer show errors after the 0.2.0 release.

0.2.0 — 2026-08-30

Onboarding your team is safer and clearer — and you can see what's new in StoreOS without digging through support threads.

What's new

  • Release notes in the console and docs — Check what's changed in each version from the console or the docs site; your current version is shown in the sidebar and footer.
  • Safer first login for invited staff — New team members receive a one-time temporary password and must choose their own before using the console.

Improvements

  • Clearer invitation emails — Staff invite messages explain how to sign in, with a direct link to the console and step-by-step guidance.
  • Branded emails from StoreOS — Password reset, invitations, and platform notices now match StoreOS look and feel.
  • Password requirements at a glance — When setting or changing your password, you see what's required before you submit.

Good to know

  • Invited staff must set a personal password on first sign-in — the temporary password in the email is only for that first step.

0.1.0 — 2026-08-30

Spend less time hunting through lists and more time running your store — with clearer feedback when something needs your attention.

What's new

  • Find orders, products, and records faster — Filter lists by what matters to your business, search at the same time, and share a filtered view with your team.
  • Errors you won't miss — When something fails while saving, the message stays visible at the top of the form so you know what to fix.
  • Billing oversight for platform admins — Review a store's plan, adjust subscription periods, and see invoices from the admin console.

Improvements

  • Lists and billing show the right data — Search returns the records you expect, and billing views stay tied to the store you're managing.
  • Easier staff and role setup — Inviting team members and assigning roles gives clearer guidance when something needs attention.

Good to know

  • If a saved list link opens without the filters you expect, set them again in the console — older bookmark formats no longer apply filters automatically.
