WooCommerce in Bangladesh means you also bought the hosting
A freelancer site is cheap until plugins, SSL, and Pathao live on a server you now own. StoreOS has no Tk 20,000 build fee. Monthly price is the plan on the homepage.
The quote looks friendly. Tk 20,000, maybe 40,000, for a WooCommerce shop. Two months if the freelancer is busy. You get a WordPress login and a promise that Pathao can be “added.”
Then you own the machine.
SSL expires. PHP needs an update. A plugin fights another plugin. COD is a checkbox. The courier is a second plugin, or a Google Sheet. When the theme breaks on mobile, you pay the same person again.
That is the real cost column on our homepage: build fee, then hosting every month, then a rebuild when the catalog grows.
We use Tk 20,000+ and 2 months+ as a marketing contrast, not as an audited industry study. Local agencies publish wider ranges. The pattern is the same: you bought a site and a job.
What WooCommerce is good at
You want the files. You have a developer on staff. You are fine patching WordPress on Sunday.
WooCommerce is a real store. Local gateways and couriers exist as plugins. You are not locked into StoreOS.
You are locked into whoever remembers the hosting password.
What StoreOS is
A merchant console: products, variants, stock, orders, coupons, customers. A storefront that can be a theme (Starter and Enigma are live) or a custom site on the Storefront API.
Cash on delivery, Pathao, and Steadfast sit in that console on a paid plan. Billing is taka, from the live catalog — not a frozen ৳290 screenshot, not a USD subscription.
