When the COD parcel comes back, the order still has to live somewhere
Refused cash-on-delivery is part of selling in Bangladesh. Courier return fees belong in their merchant panel. Your job is to still have the order, the SKU, and the phone number.
Cash on delivery means the buyer can say no at the door. That is why they chose it.
It also means some parcels come home. You paid a trip. The unit is back on the shelf, or it should be. If the only record was a Messenger screenshot, you will restock the wrong size and argue about a name you cannot find.
Do not learn courier fees from a blog
Pathao and Steadfast publish their own return and COD rules. Those pages have disagreed with each other before. Blogs round them into tidy tables.
Open your merchant panel. Write down:
- COD percent inside Dhaka vs outside
- Whether a failed delivery still bills the delivery attempt
- Return charge, if any

What the store has to keep
- The order: who, phone, address, SKU, COD amount
- Stock: put the unit back if it actually returned
- The next attempt: same customer, or stop shipping to that number
A console order survives the Facebook thread you archived. Booking Pathao or Steadfast from that order (paid plan) means the consignment is tied to the line item, not to a note titled “Rafi 017…”
What not to do
Do not turn COD off because returns exist. First-time buyers in this market still want it. We already wrote why.
Do not pretend Free includes courier booking. It does not. Create a free store, load products, then take COD on a paid plan. Pricing.
