Ecommerce SEO in Bangladesh: basics for a new online store
Ecommerce SEO Bangladesh basics for a new store: product titles, categories, speed, Search Console, Google Business Profile, and a simple checklist.

Ecommerce SEO in Bangladesh means getting found on Google when someone searches for what you sell. For a new store, it is a slow channel and a cheap one. Ads stop when you stop paying. A good product page keeps working.
This guide covers the basics: what to do in your first month, in the order that helps most. No tricks, and no promises about rankings. Nobody can promise those.
If you sell mostly on Facebook today, SEO is the way to get a second source of buyers who are not following your page. A real store is the first step. See f-commerce vs ecommerce website.
How people search for what you sell
Think about what a buyer types, not what you call the product.
- "men's cotton panjabi price in bangladesh"
- "bluetooth speaker dhaka"
- "baby skin care cream"
People often search for a product type, plus a place or "price". Some search in Bangla, some in English, some mix both. You do not need to guess. Write down the words your customers use in Messenger. Those are real searches in disguise.
Make a short list of 10 phrases for your top products. You will use them in titles, descriptions, and category names.
Step 1: Get the basics of the site right
SEO starts with a site that works.
Use your own domain
A domain like yourbrand.com or yourbrand.com.bd is something Google can learn and people can remember. A StoreOS subdomain is fine for loading products. Before you advertise, get your own. Custom domain is on a paid plan. Read a Facebook bio is not a domain.
Make sure it is on HTTPS
Your store address should start with https. Hosted stores handle this, so you do not need to buy a certificate yourself.
Check it on a phone
Most of your visitors will arrive from a phone. Open your store on a phone, tap through a product, add to cart, and go to checkout. If anything is hard to read or tap, fix it.
Step 2: Write product titles that match searches
Your product title is the single most important line on the page.

Pattern: product type, key detail, brand or color.
- Weak: "New Collection 2026"
- Better: "Men's Cotton Panjabi, Navy, Eid Collection"
Rules:
- Put the main words first.
- Be specific. Include type, material, color, or size.
- Do not repeat the same keyword over and over. Write for people.
- Make every title different. Two products should not share the same title.
- Use the same name in the title, the page, and your social posts.
Do not stuff the title with every word you can think of. It reads badly and does not help.
Step 3: Write descriptions that are yours
The description tells Google and the buyer what the product is. Write it in your own words.
- Say what it is, who it is for, and key facts: material, size, color, what is in the box.
- Write at least a few real sentences. A page with just a photo and price gives little to read.
- Do not copy the supplier's text. If ten shops use the same words, none of them stands out.

Step 4: Organise products into clear categories
Categories help buyers browse. They also give Google pages about a topic, such as "men's panjabi" or "phone accessories".
Tips:
- Use names people search: "Women's Sandals", not "Collection B".
- Keep the structure shallow. Two levels is plenty for most stores.
- Put each product in the category where a buyer would look for it first.
- Do not create a category for one product. Wait until you have a few.
- Add a short intro line to each category if your theme supports it.
Step 5: Photos that load fast
Page speed affects visitors and search. Slow pages lose buyers before they see the product.
- Do not upload huge photos straight from a phone. Resize them to a sensible size first if you can.
- Use fewer, better photos rather than twenty similar ones.
- Name your files clearly, such as navy-cotton-panjabi-front.jpg, rather than IMG_2043.jpg.
- Write alt text if your theme allows it, describing the photo in a plain sentence.
On StoreOS, product images are hosted and served from a CDN, so you do not set up image hosting yourself. You still control how many photos you upload and how large they are.
Step 6: Connect Google Search Console
Search Console is Google's free tool that shows how your site appears in search. It tells you which pages are indexed and which searches bring visitors.
StoreOS has a Google Search Console plugin. In its installation notes, it can verify your storefront with Google sign-in or with an HTML meta tag. Hosted storefronts publish a sitemap at /sitemap.xml automatically. After verification, submit your sitemap address in Search Console if it was not submitted for you.
Steps:
- Install the Google Search Console plugin in the console.
- Verify your store, using Google sign-in or a pasted meta tag.
- Submit your sitemap if needed.
- Come back in a few weeks. Check which pages are indexed.
Do not expect traffic in days. New sites take time. Check weekly, and do not change things every day.
Step 7: Add Google Analytics, or at least check where visitors come from
You can add Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager as plugins. They show where visitors come from and what they do. Keep it simple at first: look at which pages get visits, and which products people view and do not buy.

Step 8: Use Google Business Profile, if it applies
Google Business Profile is for businesses that people can find in the local map results. It makes sense if you have a shop, showroom, or pickup point that customers can visit.
If you sell only from home with no public address, it may not apply. Do not list an address you do not want customers to visit. Read Google's current rules for who can create a profile, and follow them.
If it applies, add your shop name, address, hours, phone number, a few real photos, and your store link.
Step 9: Get real links and mentions
Links from other sites are a signal that you are real.
- Put your store link in your Facebook bio, page, and posts.
- Add it to your WhatsApp business profile and Instagram bio.
- Ask suppliers or partners if they list stockists.
- Write useful posts, such as a size guide or a care guide, and link to your products.
Avoid buying links. It is against Google's guidelines and can hurt you.
Step 10: Write helpful content
A short guide can bring in people who are not ready to buy yet. Think about the questions customers ask you.
- "How to choose the right size for X"
- "How to care for Y"
- "What is the difference between A and B"
Write it from real experience, and link to the products. One good page is better than ten thin ones.
What not to do
- Do not copy descriptions from other sites.
- Do not repeat the same keyword in every sentence.
- Do not buy bulk links or use tricks that promise first place on Google.
- Do not change product names constantly. Pages need time to settle.
- Do not ignore mobile.
